Presented annually by the Athletic Department to that coach who exhibits both sportsmanship and excellence in coaching both on and off the field as typified by Pete Parks in his career at Blake, 1943-1972. 

Presented to that person who goes well beyond what is expected in helping Blake in it’s commitment to a strong Athletic Program. Always willing to go the extra mile, to be relentless in the pursuit of excellence, to make things right and to always give support.

Awarded to two student athletes in The Blake School senior class who, because of their athletic prowess and sportsmanship in the senior year, are voted by the varsity coaches and Athletic Director the outstanding athletes of the year.

The Athena Award is given to an outstanding senior female athlete. It is voted on by the coaches of women’s sports on the basis of “excellence in individual sport or for participation and accomplishment in group sports.” The Athena Awards ceremony honors the athletic leadership of 53 outstanding female seniors from Minneapolis and suburban high schools.
