You can submit music at any time of the year.Â
If you would like to submit music for the 2024Â season, please email Ashley, mp3 files or YouTube links.Â
Specify if you just found the music and are sharing, or you would like to use it for something specific, in the future.Â
Please include cut times if you have specific cuts you like!
If you are cutting your own music, it still needs to be approved by Ashley before you can begin choreography.

SYNCHRO FIGURES AND ROUTINES
Highschool synchro has 3 divisionsÂ
Short (JV)
Long (Varsity)
Extended (Varsity)
Swimmers may compete in more than one division for different events
Synchro has two components:
Figures
Required skills for synchronized swimming performed individually, and slowly, without music.
Scored by a panel of judges, on design and control.
All swimmers wear black suits and white caps for figures for all meets throughout the season.
There are JV and Varsity figures. JV figures disappear after the regular season, and everyone does Varsity figures at Section & State meets.
RoutinesÂ
Solos, Duets, Trios and Teams
Solos= 1 swimmer, Duets= 2 swimmers, Trios= 3 swimmers, Teams= 4 to 8 swimmers. One quarter bonus point is added to the score for each additional swimmer over four, for team routines.
Each school team is limited to 18 routines to be divided among the solo, duet, and trio categories in which they qualify. Unlimited entries in team categories are allowed.
Each competitor may enter a maximum of 3 categories; if they do so, one must be a team.
They are judged by a panel of officials for Technical Merit and Artistic Impression.
Swimmers wear black swimsuits and white caps for routine competition for regular season meets. For championship meets, swimmers will wear embroidered costume suits, headpieces, and gelatin in their hair to hold it in place.Â
There are usually 6 competitive meets (dual or tri-team)Â in the regular season
The first 3 meets are figures, only
The last 3 meets are routines, onlyÂ
We work on both figures and routines, at practice, the whole season
During dual/tri meets, each school may enter 6Â routines for points: 1Â team routine, with the remaining 5Â routines being distributed among solos, duets and trios with no more than 2Â entries per event.
Championship competitions have both figure and routine components, and the scores are combined to each total 50% of your score.Â
Routines or Figures that place in the top 4 at the Section meet, for each division, go on to state. (ex. short figures, short solos, etc.)
Once you place an event at state (1-7th place), you will permanently move into the next division for that event.
Once you place any event for any division at state, you may no longer compete in the short division.

DIRECTIONS TO POOLS FOR AWAY MEETS
The google calendar, on the left, can be added to your phone, computer, or google calendar. Click the +GoogleCalendar sign at the bottom right of the calendar.
All practices and meets will be listed on the calendar. If you open an event on the calendar, you can see all the pertinent information: school dismissal time, bus time, meet warm up time, meet start time, and meet location.
WHAT ARE FIGURES!?
Figures are synchro positions, with transitions to other positions, done individually. You will learn, then perform 4 figures in front of a panel of 3-5 judges for an individual score.
At the Section & State meets, figures for all swimmers will be calculated and used as half of your score, combined with each of your routines.
CHECK OUT THESE VIDEOS & INFORMATIONAL SHEETS, EXPLAINING EACH FIGURE:
VARSITY FIGURES
We will continue these figures for the 2024 season.
JV FIGURES
OTHER FIGURES WE ROTATE
Typically, figures rotate out every 2 years.
JV figures, along with ballet leg, and walkover front do not change.
BLAKE SYNCHRO

- Blake Synchro is a very new team– we were formed in 2015!
