Alpine Ski
AM Boys Team Places 2nd!
The team brought home some hardware this weekend, placing 2nd out of 19 teams! They were just two points out of 1st! The team was led by Ethan Barkwell (9th), Zachary Barkwell (15), Aidan Schmidt (18) and Colin Lee (27th).
Sunset Boys Team Places 6th!
Team was led by Zachary Barkwell (15th), Colin Lee (19th), Aidan Schmidt (28th) and Christian Hovard (54th).
AM Girls Team Places 6th!
The team was led by Vivien Pihlstrom who won the race, Mackenzie Higgins (19th), Sinclair Christie (45th) and Ainsley Pflaum (49th).
Sunset Girls Team Places 7th!
The team was led by Vivien Pihlstrom (1st), Mackenzie Higgins (19th), Bridgette Guider (45th) and Ainsley Pflaum (49th).
Vivien Pihlstrom Wins Both Races!
Viv had a dominant weekend, winning both races by over 3 seconds combined.
ROBBIE Massie ’03
Head Coach
Robbie Massie grew up ski racing at Blake/Buck Hill Ski Racing Club. He graduated from Blake in 2003, then headed west to ski Division 1 at Montana State University. After college, Robbie continued his passion for ski racing through coaching. He has coached every season since 2008 including two seasons as a FIS coach at The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, two seasons as the Head FIS coach at The Bridger Ski Foundation and eight seasons as the head coach for The Blake School.

We are a program of legacy and tradition. The goal of our program is to demonstrate to each student athlete the potential of weaving strong academics with individual athletic success to contribute to a team and to provide a rewarding experience in this lifetime sport. The Blake School Alpine Ski Racing Team traditions are well known throughout the state of Minnesota and elsewhere. The highly recognizable team hat is internationally known and carries inside its woven threads the team’s motto: “Smooth…Fast…Natural.”
We train at Buck Hill in Burnsville, only 30 minutes from our High School campus. We travel to other ski venues throughout the state and take at least two trips a year to race and train. We have our own team room on campus to store and prepare equipment as well as a gym and weight room to use for training.
